Keyboard shortcuts
Most of this list is available inside Octostitch at any time — press F1 to open
the Keyboard Shortcuts window.
Not everything has a shortcut. Difference, Intersect and Mirror H / V are reached from the Selection menu or the side panel’s Modify group.
Shortcuts follow the letter on your keycap, not its position on a US keyboard — so
Z is Z on AZERTY and QWERTZ layouts too.

Undo is context-aware. A modal that keeps its own undo stack holds the shortcut for as long as it’s open — the Convert Image wizard for the annotation you’re brushing, the satin converter for the cuts and rungs you’re placing. Undoing the document behind either of them is never what the key meant, so it doesn’t.

Trackpad gestures on macOS
Section titled “Trackpad gestures on macOS”A Mac laptop’s trackpad has no middle button, so there’s no middle-drag to pan with. Octostitch gives it the gestures macOS itself defines instead:
| Action | Gesture |
|---|---|
| Pan | Two-finger scroll (or middle-drag, with a mouse) |
| Zoom | Pinch, or ⌘ + scroll |
Precise trackpad deltas and a wheel’s notches arrive tagged differently, so the two devices are told apart and each gets the gesture its user expects: a wheel still zooms everywhere, including on a Mac.
Windows and Linux trackpads are unchanged — two-finger scroll still zooms there, as it always has.
